Contemplative Prayer
Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the House of Prayer in the City
Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Oratory at Episcopal House of Prayer in Collegeville
A group gathers each week for silent prayer in a Christian setting. The format includes simple chanting and two 20-minute sits with a walking meditation between. Any type of silent meditation of contemplative practice is welcome. Arrive a little early the first time for a brief orientation.
Programs
Our retreat series is focused on contemplative prayer and transformative spirituality. The core of our teaching team is Rev. Ward Bauman, Rev. Lynn Bauman, Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault, and zen priest Martin Lahn. We bring in additional teachers to lead retreats throughout the year. In 2012, we are pleased to be sponsoring an introductory retreat with Fr. Martin Laird, OSA, a yoga retreat with Carole Baker, and to welcome Fr. Hilary Thimmesh, OSB, to our August Wisdom School. For more on our programs, visit the programs page or House of Prayer in the City page.
